Our "Pixie Hollow" & Our Flower Fairy

So after researching, emailing, calling, and visiting endless venues, followed by a ridiculously detailed multi-page spreadsheet breaking down costs and options...it looks like we have a winner!  Our wedding ceremony will be held at Castaway in Burbank, CA on Friday October 4, 2013.

The ceremony runs $5 per person, and includes an outdoor ceremony site with a Gazebo and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains:

We've chosen their lowest priced reception package, which is RIDICULOUSLY cheap compared to every other all-inclusive wedding venue we visited in Southern California (but only available Fridays and Sundays)...I believe $46 per person, and it includes a cheese and cracker spread for the cocktail hour, complimentary champagne toast, choice of up to 3 entrees (including vegetarian option) for the sit-down dinner, choice of linen colors, wedding cake from one of 3 different venders, and use of the room until midnight.  Add-ons we are considering are the gold chivari chairs ($5.50 per person), full-length table cloths ($12 per table), the "swag" lighting consisting of tulle drapery and twinkle lights ($400), and putting $500 towards a signature drink at the bar for our guests.  The reception will be held in the "Verdugo" room, which has breath-taking views of the city lights of Burbank:

We also put down a deposit for our florist (aka "Flower Fairy"), Kate Baker Floral Design, who I am beyond excited to start working with!  She completely gets my vision, and I just know everything is going to turn out amazing!  She is incredibly flexible, offers a discount for booking by mid January, and allows you to decrease your original contract down to 25% of the original amount agreed on, just in case you need to cut back later for any reason.  Her description of our theme was fantastic:

"Beautiful and natural palette of shades of pale and dusky greens, accented with palest gold, blush
pink, and antique whites, touches of brown. Bride prefers a natural and lush, organic style overall, to harmonize with the outdoor setting – a subtle “enchanted forest” theme. Bride and groom like the use of textural and rustic elements such as mosses, twigs, interesting foliages , branches, birds nests, etc. juxtaposed with “fairy” details such as Crystals, “fairy dust”/glitter, etc. and lush blooms here and there, in a very natural, free-form style. Flowers used may include: Tuberose, poppies, anemones, hellebores, Dahlias, and other wildflowers….plus foliages such as: Dusty Miller, Japonica, moss, amaranthus, curly willow, eucalyptus, etc. Also may utilize other seasonal flowers such as: Lisianthus, Hydrangea, Dianthus, ruffled “garden” roses and spray roses, Stock, subtle seasonal
greenery, etc."

So excited to see it all play out!!
